What To Do When There’s Nothing To Do

There’s a good chance over the next few weeks you’ll find yourself stuck at home in some form or fashion. The question is… what is there to do? Let’s be honest. Netflix and Disney Plus are great, but you can only spend so many hours staring at a TV screen before you get bored. We decided to come up with a list of our favorite homebound hobbies.

  • Make that dish you saw on Facebook

    • You know what we’re talking about. We’ve all scrolled through Facebook and found a “food hacks” video with a tasty, yet suspiciously simple, recipe. Next time you see one that you like, make it! This can be a fun activity for the whole family!

  • Listen to a mystery podcast

    • These are a great way to kill a few hours, without staring hopelessly at a TV screen. There are plenty of great thrillers to choose from. The best part? These podcasts can be listened to while you tackle your list of chores for the day.

  • Learn a new hobby on Youtube

    • Is there something you’ve always wanted to learn more about? Is there something you’ve always wished you could try? Youtube is a great place to start. There are FREE tutorials and videos on just about anything. You’d be surprised how quickly time passes as you’re deep into Youtube’s recommended video list.

  • Read (or listen to) a new book

    • Books are a great way to pass the time. They offer an escape from our world and an adventure in a whole new one. But what if you don’t have a physical book to read? There’s always digital options available for instant download online. My favorite way to explore these awesome stories is through audiobooks. There’s plenty of awesome audiobooks out there, and your first one is usually FREE if you sign up for an account.

  • Download a new game on your phone

    • Head to the app store and find a fun game to play on your phone. Don’t be surprised if you get hooked. There are even games that allow multiple players, making it a great way to pass time with family.

  • Make a bucket list

    • When all of this craziness return to normal, what do you want your life to look like? If there’s one thing we can gain from this whole debacle, it’s an appreciation for what we previously took for granted. What are some things you want to get into when you get the chance? What are some trips you’ve always wanted to take? What are some things you’ve always wanted to try? Now is a great time to find what you’re passionate about and prepare for it.
