This past week OSB had the privilege of welcoming Jackson Spalding co-founder, Glen Jackson, to speak to our team. Here are our top 5 takeaways:
Extraordinary excellence, once reached and sustained, creates a competitive advantage.
“This is the kind of excellence that is first rate in thinking and in execution.”- Extraordinary excellence is reliant on idea generation and implementation. The two go hand in hand. Failure to excel in one means an incapability to excel in the other.
Mediocrity is the opposite of preeminence
“Preeminent businesses get to a mountain top and look at the next one and say ‘Look at that one… let’s go plant a flag on that’” Your ambition is a direct reflection of your direction. Failure to look ahead into new challenges results in an acceptance of where you are.
Relationships are forged, not just formed.
Relationships aren’t created overnight. They take weeks, months, and sometimes years to develop. But once these relationships are formed they provide the capacity for tremendous long term value, far beyond what would have been achievable had those years of forging not taken place.
Questions are the language of strategy
Take time to really listen to what your clients are saying. What are their needs? What are their passions? How can you help them fulfill their ambitions? Use these questions to help diagnose how to move forward and maximize your impact.
CRM + R&B = Big Momentum
CRM is the “science” behind excellence. It’s the technology used to enhance customer experience. It’s the tools used to ensure that you’re meeting your clients’ needs. R&B is the “art”. It’s knowing how and why to the things you do. When you have both, you create big momentum within your company.
